Khichdi is a complete Indian meal that can be eaten anytime during the day. It is generally a mix of rice and lentils and is easy and convenient to cook. For variation, one may add vegetables and ghee to the mix while cooking. It provides a perfect balance of nutrients like carbohydrates,proteins and dietary fibre. It is usually had when one wants to eat a light yet filling meal. Khichdi with curd is very soothing for the stomach and easily digestible. It can be eaten with papad or pickle as well.
